Casablanca Valley Wine Tour
Overview
The Casablanca Valley, about an hour west of Santiago towards the coast, is where Chile makes its crisp, cool-climate whites. Morning fog and Pacific breezes keep the vineyards fresh, which suits Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
On this day trip you visit two wineries, with a guided walk through the vines and cellars and a tasting at each. A typical day might combine a family winery with a larger estate known for its Sauvignon Blanc, with time for lunch in the valley in between.
It makes a good contrast to the bold reds of the Maipo Valley, and it pairs well with a visit to Valparaíso if you want a longer day on the coast. Tastings are for over-18s.
