Moon Valley, Valley of the Souls & Killi Killi Half-Day Tour
Overview
In one afternoon this tour shows you the strange landscapes that surround La Paz and the best view over the city itself.
The Valle de las Ánimas, the Valley of the Souls, is a ridge of tall, jagged rock spires on the city's edge, with the mountains beyond. In the Valle de la Luna, Moon Valley, wind and rain have carved soft clay into a maze of pale pinnacles and gullies; short paths take you in among them. It lies lower than the city centre, so it's a gentle walk for your first days at altitude.
To finish, you stop at Mirador Killi Killi, a viewpoint above the centre where the whole bowl of La Paz spreads below you, with snow-capped Illimani on the horizon on a clear day.
