El Nido Tour C: Hidden Beaches & Matinloc Shrine
Overview
If you loved the Big Lagoon, Tour C is the next day out. This shared boat trip heads to the wilder, outer edge of Bacuit Bay, where the limestone cliffs hide some of El Nido's most dramatic beaches.
On Matinloc Island you'll visit Hidden Beach, a white-sand cove walled in by rock and reached by swimming through a gap in the cliffs, and Secret Beach, a small lagoon you enter through a narrow opening in the rock. Nearby is Matinloc Shrine, an abandoned chapel with a white domed rotunda, where you can climb to a viewpoint over the open sea. The day also takes in snorkelling and swimming stops, often at Helicopter Island, named for its shape on the horizon, or Talisay Beach.
Lunch is served on board or on a beach, usually grilled fish, meat, rice and fruit. The exact order of stops depends on the tide and the weather, and the boatmen choose the calmest spots on the day.
