Underwater Sculpture Park snorkel trip
Overview
A ring of 26 children holding hands stands on the seabed in Molinere Bay, slowly turning into coral. It's Vicissitudes, the best-known piece in Grenada's Underwater Sculpture Park, which British artist Jason deCaires Taylor began in 2006 and which helped create the marine protected area around it.
Your boat leaves from Grand Anse Beach and runs north along the coast past St George's and its harbour. In the bay you slip into calm, clear water with mask and fins and float over the figures: the circle of children, the Lost Correspondent typing at his desk, and the Christ of the Deep. You see them clearly from the surface, so you don't need to dive.
Weather permitting, there's a second stop to snorkel over a nearby reef, such as Flamingo Bay, among parrotfish and sea fans. Expect around 40 minutes to an hour in the water at each site, with drinks on board.

You should be comfortable in the water. Life jackets or floats are usually available, and the bay is normally calm.
Yes. Dive centres run scuba trips to the sculptures, which let you get closer to the figures on the seabed. Ask us to add one.
