Cocora Valley & Salento Day Trip
Overview
The Cocora Valley is the postcard of the Coffee Triangle: green hills dotted with wax palms, Colombia's national tree, so tall and thin they seem to float in the mist. This day trip from your coffee region hotel takes you there with a local guide.
From the valley floor you walk through pastures and cloud forest among the palms, learning how they grow and why they're protected, with viewpoints over the whole valley. The pace and length of the walk depend on the tour, from an easy stroll to a longer hike.
Then it's on to Salento, a small town of brightly painted houses and wooden balconies, where the main street is lined with craft shops and cafés. Many tours also stop at Filandia or a coffee farm on the way back.
