3 Countries in One Day: Lednice, Wachau & Červený Kameň
Overview
Visit three countries between breakfast and dinner on this guided round trip from Bratislava.
Start in South Moravia at Lednice, the Liechtenstein family's neo-Gothic chateau, set in landscaped parkland within the Lednice–Valtice Cultural Landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then cross into Austria for the Wachau valley, another UNESCO landscape of vineyards above the Danube: Dürnstein, with its blue-and-white abbey tower and the castle ruins where Richard the Lionheart was held captive, and the golden baroque Melk Abbey.
Back in Slovakia, finish at Červený Kameň, the Red Stone Castle in the foothills of the Little Carpathians, famous for its vast cellars, before returning to Bratislava.
