Arraial do Cabo Day Trip with Boat Tour
Overview
South of Búzios, the cape at Arraial do Cabo has some of the clearest water in Brazil, with white sand and a sea so turquoise that locals call it the Brazilian Caribbean. This day trip takes you there by road and then out on the water.
A minivan collects you from your hotel in the morning for the drive of about an hour. At the marina you board a boat for a cruise of around four hours around the cape. The highlights are the Ilha do Farol, a protected island beach of fine white sand where landing time is limited, the little coves of the Prainhas do Pontal do Atalaia below the cliffs, and Forno bay, where you may swim beside the boat. Along the way you pass the Gruta Azul sea cave and rock formations such as the Fenda de Nossa Senhora.
There's time for lunch in Arraial before the drive back to Búzios in the late afternoon.

Frequently asked questions
Not always. Landing time on the Ilha do Farol is limited because it is protected, and at some stops you swim from the boat.
The water at Arraial is noticeably cooler than in Búzios because of a cold current, which is also why it is so clear.
