Manuel Antonio Catamaran & Snorkelling Trip
Overview
From the marina at Quepos, catamarans sail south along the coast of Manuel Antonio National Park, where forested headlands and rocky islets drop into the Pacific. It's the park from a different angle, and the open water is where you're most likely to meet dolphins, which often ride alongside the boat. In certain months, roughly July to October and again from December to March, humpback whales pass along this coast too.
The boat anchors in a sheltered bay for snorkelling among reef fish, with masks and fins provided, and some boats have a slide off the back. Back on deck, the crew serve a meal and drinks while you sail back along the coast.
Morning and afternoon departures run most of the year; the afternoon trip is timed to come back with the sunset over the Pacific. Sea life sightings depend on the day, and snorkelling visibility on the conditions.
