Overview
Hotel Eco Boutique Bidasoa is a family-run boutique hotel on Avenida Vitacura, in one of Santiago's greenest and most relaxed neighbourhoods. It was founded in 1989 by Mauricio Sanz and María Elena Raab, and the Sanz family still runs it today. The name comes from the Bidasoa river in the Basque Country, where Mauricio was born.
The hotel takes its eco label seriously: around 95% of its operation runs on renewable energy, and in 2023 it won a Green Impact Award for energy efficiency. Its 87 rooms range from small singles to suites and a family apartment. Double Rooms (32 m²) have two double beds, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, cable TV, a minibar, a safe and a desk, and suit couples who want space as well as families.
Food is a big part of the stay. The Bidasoa restaurant serves Mediterranean cooking, fresh fish and shellfish, with one of the longest wine lists in Chile, and breakfast is served there every morning. Casa Sanz, the family's second restaurant, focuses on plant-based cooking in a garden setting. Vitacura's galleries, shops and restaurants are close by, and Parque Bicentenario is about 1.5 km away.
