Discover Scuba Diving in Grenada
Overview
Grenada has some of the most varied diving in the Caribbean, from reefs and wrecks to the Underwater Sculpture Park, and you don't need a licence to try it. PADI's Discover Scuba Diving is a first taste of breathing underwater with an instructor beside you the whole time.
It starts with a short briefing on the equipment and safety, followed by a session in a pool or calm, shallow water, where you practise breathing through the regulator and clearing your mask. Once you're comfortable, the boat takes you out for a shallow open-water dive on a nearby reef, among sea fans, coral and shoals of tropical fish.
Several PADI dive centres run it on the south coast and on Grand Anse, including the one at True Blue Bay Resort. If you enjoy it, the dive can count towards a full Open Water course.
